The employee will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, in Cleveland, OH. The employee is responsible for providing a wide range of transportation duties such as but not limited to the following: transporting patients (and their family members), employees, medical/general supplies, delivering mail and emergency runs as they arise. Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Perform vehicle transport of medical and office supplies, equipment and mail. Operate and maintain various powered industrial vehicles. Maintain vehicle in a neat, clean and orderly manner. Perform routine safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle. Use forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, and other loading and storage mechanisms. Place cargo appropriately in vehicles on shelving, pallets or bins to ensure adequate safeguard and access. Maintain the flow of the medical facility deliveries by moving, delivering, shelving, storing and inventorying materials and equipment in all traffic conditions. Follow oral instruction from dispatcher and/or supervisor pertaining to transporting, destination, cargo, deadlines and any additional/special instruction. Understand how to load supply carts, vehicles or pallets to ensure safety and most efficient process. Handle delivering and warehousing materials including hazardous, flammable and temperature sensitive products. Have a familiarity with emergency response procedures to summon aid if a medical emergency arises. Read, write and maintain files of various organizational and commercial documents to include accident reports, incident reports, discrepancy reports, shipping/receiving documents, and trip logs. Direct special attention to time sensitive and emergency requests. Use proper safety techniques when loading and unloading vehicles. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized. This position is located in the Technical Training Standards Division (TTSD), Office of Data Analysis and Program Support, Office of Railroad Safety (RRS), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The position of Railroad Safety Specialists Trainer in the Track discipline. The trainer will provide technical training and development while also organizing training activities throughout the FRA. As a Railroad Safety Specialist-Training, you will: Serve as subject matter expert for the Track discipline to ascertain the technical training needs of the Office of Railroad Safety. Coordinate and liaison with the Office of Railroad Safety Management to ensure that inspection, networking and training programs and systems are developed which are consistent and supportive of current and proposed enforcement policies and procedures. Conduct planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of methodolgies to facilitate the accomplishment of internal training programs. Develop and provide technical guidance to Federal Railroad Administration personnel and relevant stakeholders on inspection programs, informational networking systems (internal and external), and rail safety training programs. Develop, recommend, implement, and evaluate understanding of policies to ensure effective, consistent, and responsive application in the Office of Railroad Safety. The ideal candidate for this position is a mission focused professional who has experience providing guidance, interpretation, and enforcement of FRA regulations and procedures concerning the Track discipline, strong training development, and delivery skills.
