Coordinate with IT service owners, property custodians, procurement personnel, finance offices, program managers, and other stakeholders... ...to ensure IT assets are accurately recorded, assigned, safeguarded, and available to support mission requirements. Interpret, formulate, and enforce local property-management policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal controls in accordance with applicable federal regulations, agency directives, and financial audit standards. Develop and provide property-accountability guidance, training, job aids, and corrective-action plans for hand receipt holders, custodians, end users, supervisors, and management officials. Administer and utilize automated property-accounting systems and enterprise databases, such as EBS and ServiceNow, to maintain asset records, conduct periodic physical inventories, reconcile discrepancies, and support audit readiness. Analyze asset data to identify trends, control weaknesses, excess holdings, and recurring discrepancies; prepare inventory certifications, management reports, audit-support documentation, and recommendations for process improvement. Direct property retirement, sanitization, de-installation, reutilization, transfer, donation, and destruction/disposal procedures in accordance with environmental, security, and surplus-property guidelines. Research, document, and coordinate resolution of lost, stolen, damaged, excess, or otherwise unaccounted-for IT assets; identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution through closure. Provide expert consultation and resolve complex property-accountability issues for internal departments, leadership, supply personnel... ...and external governing bodies; prepare official reports and authoritative responses to customer and auditor inquiries.

To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Developing new methods, approaches and procedures for IT accountable property management program - Implementing special projects and developing recommendation for policy change - Independently preparing and presenting briefings on property accountability topics - Developing and executing phases of operating programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
