Assists and supports the functional analysis of existing systems, proposed new systems, and proposed upgrades to all aspects of current systems and related subsystems.
Participates in monitoring, testing, evaluating, and implementing systems changes.
Assists senior analysts to conduct studies and surveys related to a specific module, phase, or work process of a major financial system.
Assists in the operational review of both internal and external audit agencies. Incumbent participates in various aspects of projects involving operational/system changes caused by legislative, regulatory, or policy changes.
Assists in the planning, coordinating, and compiling of complex financial data related to program and budget, procurement, auditing, and reporting.
What we are looking for
**This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Applying financial laws, regulations and policies as they relate to financial systems operations; testing, and updating user documentation for financial systems. This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment.
If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for coordinating and continuously improving invoice and payment processes, maintaining inventory accuracy and cost controls, and providing accounting and operational support across multiple locations.
